No matter where you lived in the kingdom, in the country or in the city, there was a certain parish church that you belonged to, and where you were expected to turn up at regular intervals to hear the word of God, make confession, have your children baptized and in ultimately be buried, and of course, most importantly, in the thoughts and consciousness of each and every person. This lecture will talk about some of the many ways in which the church played a role in medieval Danish society.
